Is your organization on or moving to Microsoft Teams or Skype for Business? Then one challenge you will run into is handling voice services.
While Microsoft added PSTN Calling with Microsoft Calling Plans for Teams and Skype for Business, giving your users their own primary telephone number, it sounds great until you see the costs.
Microsoft’s recommended Domestic calling plan for Canada is almost $15 per user and if you add international calling, it doubles. That is a lot to pay for PSTN access and some very basic calling features like call forwarding and call hold.
At the same time, your organisation likely has an existing PBX that was paid for years ago and offers a huge set of calling capabilities that many users are already familiar. While some users will want to live inside Microsoft Teams, many that will still need to depend on voice calling.
