Our Commitment to Canadian Municipalities
Municipalities across Canada require absolutely reliable communications solutions to engage and support their residents and local businesses. Whether it is to support safety services such as local policing, firefighting or road maintenance or to keep residents informed of waste services and building permits.
We understand that local government across Canada varies dramatically in size, services offer and so do their technology needs. Unity Connected Solutions addresses this by offering a variety of options in most categories.
We support all the technologies we sell with true 24x7x365 support, including statutory holidays, so we always have your back.
We work with municipalities across Canada. Here are a sample of our customers.

We offer premise-based systems from Mitel and Avaya and cloud based solutions from Microsoft for our municipal customers. As experience has shown there is more confidence in a solution that must support emergency services to citizens. These systems can either be made redundant or locally survivable. The latter being a more cost-effective option.
These systems are all VoIP or IP based systems. They offer the latest in collaboration capabilities, including supporting mobile phones. Municipal staff can all be housed on a single platform and supported whether in the office or out on the road.
Finally, these solutions can offer varying levels of contact centre support, from basic to extremely sophisticated, with different ‘queues’ to support different functions or departments as well as different levels of reporting.
Contact Centre & At-Home Staff
The COVID pandemic changed everything. Both in terms of customer expectations and how business needed to rethink their contact centre strategy.
At-home agents became the norm.
It requires contact centre technology that doesn't depend on where the agents are located, ensures each contact gets to the right agent, provides management visibility into everything that is happening and the flexibility to change things quickly.
We know how to effectively set up a contact centre to support at-home agents.
Did you know that we save our municipal customers up to 50% or more on their Telco services with our SIP trunks?
Most municipalities will have numerous locations with a variety of services. All over-provisioned, of course, to ensure calls do not get blocked. But provisioning to meet your peak calling volume does not make sense and is an expensive way to plan. SIP trunks offer lower pricing as they leverage lower cost broadband networks and are far more flexible than fixed PRI or local lines. With the ability to ‘burst’ or scale up on demand, you never have to over-provision again to prevent blocked calls.
Have you considered that the Telco savings could help fund that communications platform upgrade?
By their nature, most local government – municipalities or regions – span across a geographic area and may use wide area networks (WANs) to connect locations. Traditional WANs are inefficient and expensive. Software Defined Wide Area Networks (SD-WAN) are not only less expensive to run but simpler to set up and manage.
Unity offers the industry leading SD-WAN from Velocloud (now part of VMWare) that is the highest ranked vendor in the most recent Gartner Magic Quadrant for WAN Edge Infrastructure. Velocloud SD-WAN offers the scalability, affordability, and flexibility needed in a modern network. Gartner reports that an SD-WAN deployment is 2.5 times less expensive than traditional WAN architectures.
How does it do this? Through zero touch deployments and the fact it is cloud-delivered and software based. This allows for quick adaptation to changing needs including adding access to cloud-based services, standing up new branches or remote offices, and dynamic routing of all traffic for optimized application and data delivery.
We offer headsets, desk phones and room systems to support your modern IP based communications platform.
With more people working from home and using desktop and mobile clients, its vitally important to provide high quality headset devices to ensure the best call quality.
