On the 15th December, 2017, Avaya emerged from Chapter 11 after successfully completing it’s financial restructuring. Given that Avaya has the largest installed base of communications systems in Canada and globally, this will be great news for customers.
Avaya filed for Chapter 11 on January 19th, to restructure its debt and financing to position itself better to compete into the future. The recent announcement clearly places Avaya in a much stronger position than it has been for the last few years.
Avaya now has the financial flexibility to invest more into contact center and unified communications markets which continues to grow, including the development of cloud delivered solutions.
With the new management team in place, led by new CEO Jim Chirico, we have already seen significant changes at Avaya including new product plans and marketing support.
Unity Connected Solutions sees this as great news for its own customers with Avaya solutions, especially those who had been holding off upgrades or migrations. Now they can confidently move forward with a vendor who is in a much stronger place than the last few years and significantly better off than many competitors.
